Alfie Poelsing is a German-English artist based in Central London. His work explores what it means to be human by looking at people not as a society, but as a species.

 

His practice explores the uneasy intersections of power, vulnerability and the quietly ominous. Throughout his work, hands often appear less as tools of civilisation and more as instinctive, creature-like extensions of the body. Sometimes ravenous and forceful - sometimes lost and wandering.

He has been studying Art History with Curating at Birkbeck College, Bloomsbury, since late 2024.
